She was predeceased by: her parents, Miles D. Hulsey and Berma H. Hulsey; her husband James Lee Griggs; her son James Lamar "Jimmy" Griggs; her sisters, Estelle Plunkett and Marveen Roberson; and her brother-in-law Dewey Waters.

She is survived by: her son Phil Griggs (Debbie); her daughter-in-law Lois Griggs; her grandchildren, Chris, Dena, Charles and Christine; her great grandchildren, Logan, Bodee, Rachel, Dakota, Christopher, Abigail and Sawyer; her great great grandchild Emmie; and her sister Doris Hulsey Waters.
