It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Alma McAlister of Rockmart, Georgia, born in Taylorsville, Georgia, who passed away on October 31, 2024, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Buford T. Waits and Edi Robinson Waits; her husband Calvin Eugene McAlister; her son Anthony McAlister; her grandson Adam McAlister; her sister Ester Waits; and her daughter-in-law Rachel McAlister.
She is survived by: her sons, Jeffrey McAlister (Regina), Gregory McAlister (Cassie) and Rodney McAlister; her daughter-in-law Sharon McAlister; and her siblings, Revis Waits, Randall Waits, Michael Waits and Kathrine Virgina Waits. She is also survived by Thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home & Crematory (304 W Elm St, Rockmart, GA 30153). A funeral service was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, November 3rd 2024 at the Floyd Creek Baptist Church (2171 Hills Creek Rd, Taylorsville, GA 30178).
