He was predeceased by: his parents, Sam Smith and Ethel Smith; his daughter Kathy Heffner; and his siblings, Thomas Smith, Robert Smith (Bo), Joseph Smith, John Smith, Larry Smith, Phillip Smith and Mozell Long.
He is survived by: his significant other Jo Purcell Smith; his son Roger Smith (Patty); and his siblings, Winston Smith, Ruth Willie (Otto), Odell Anderson (Ralph) and Bonnie Lewis (Jack). He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Homes - LaFayette Chapel (1779 N Main St, LaFayette, GA 30728). A graveside service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the LaFayette Cemetery (103 Shaw St N, LaFayette, GA 30728).
