He was predeceased by: his son John Ransom (Johnny); his parents, William O. Ransom (Boss) and Clearisa Osburn Ransom; and his siblings, Faye Peacock (Ed), Jenny Lillie (Gene), Louise Lundy (George), W. O. Ransom (Betty) and Knox Ransom (Mary Alice).
He is survived by: his wife Jean Kingsley Ransom; his children, Jerry Ransom (Pam) and Judy Hubbard (Perry); his sisters, Madge Ransom and Shannon Lebron (Kay); his grandchildren, Melissa Campbell (Jon), Jeremy Ransom (Amanda), Jason Ransom, Wesley Ransom and David Hubbard; and his great grandchildren, Mallory, Meredith Jones, Adley Ransom and Luke Campbell.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Chickamauga (603 W. 7th, P.O. Box 239, Chickamauga, Ga. 30707) or the Alzheimer's Foundation.
