He was predeceased by : his wife Sandra Joy Fairchild; and his siblings, George, Milford Fairchild, Fannie and Katherine.

He is survived by : his sons, Mark Fairchild (Brenna) of Chattanooga and Kevin Fairchild (Dena) of Ringgold; and his sisters, Donna, Linda, Judith and Christina. He is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews.
