He was predeceased by: his parents, Curtis Nelson Keene and Mary Lucinda Harden Keene; his son Mark Dwayne Keene; and his wife Mildred. He is survived by: his son Kenneth Derral Keene of Palm Coast, Fla.; and his siblings, Fred Keene (Suzie) of Rochelle, Perry Keene (Linda) of Pitts, Betty Turner of Rochelle and Opal Rountree of Rochelle. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
