It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Laura Cathey O'Neal of Rising Fawn, Georgia, born in Cleveland, Tennessee, who passed away on August 1, 2023, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her husband James William O'Neal, Jr. (Bill); her parents, Roxie Tatum Stonecipher and Jack Cathey; her stepfather Marcine Stonecipher; her siblings, Lucy Groves, Jim Cathey, Fred Cathey, Clint Cathey, Earl Cathey of Nellie Humberd, T. J and Gladys Rule; her niece Diane Cathey Wade; and her nephews, Doyle Groves, Paul Humberd and Johnny Humberd.
She is survived by: her child Pat; her great grandchildren, Brennan, Patrick and Ellie O'Neal; her daughter Jayne Griffin (Reese) of Rising Fawn, GA; her grandson Jamison Griffin (Brennan); her great grandchildren, Hill, Candler and Mary Reese Griffin; her nieces, Marianna Dickert Williams (Larry), Leola Humberd Evans, Betty Humberd (Paul) and Barbara Humberd (Johnny) of Cleveland, TN.; and her nephew Steve Dickert (Gloria) of Lynchburg, TN. She is also survived by sons, and their children.
