He was predeceased by: his parents, John Riggs Sr. and Zara Pack Riggs; his wife Barbara Riggs Runyan; and his siblings, Sylvester, Wilborn Riggs, Sybil Turyn, Ina Kent and Ethel Osack.
He is survived by: his sons, John Riggs III (Teresa) and Harold Riggs. He is also survived by six grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Moore Funeral Home - Trenton (11910 S Main St, Trenton, GA 30752). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 1st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, October 3rd 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Highland Memory Gardens (42 Highland Memory Ln, Chapmanville, WV 25508).
