He was predeceased by: his daughter Angela Sue Sparks; his parents, Clyde Sparks and Althia Bell Caldwell Sparks; and his siblings, Lorene Norton, Traceda Honea, Helen Sparks, Howard Sparks and Alvin Sparks.
He is survived by: his wife Melba Jean Payne Sparks of Ringgold, GA.; his children, David Wayne Sparks (Renae) of Ringgold, GA. and Ulys "Jimmy" Sparks (Christy) of Ringgold, GA.; his siblings, Pat Johnson of Prattville, AL., Bonny Medley of Anniston, AL., Rymon Neal Sparks of Grove Oak, AL., Biff Alton Sparks of Cedar Bluff, AL., Phil Sparks of Grove Oak, AL. and Barry Sparks of Grove Oak, AL.; and his grandchildren, Reanna Lucas (Joshua), Riley Sparks (Katherine), Tyler Sparks (Keren), Seth Sparks (Lauren) and Caitlin Cook (Logan). He is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
