He was predeceased by: his parents, Juanita Dotson and Albert Dotson; and his brother Timothy Lee Dotson. He is survived by: his children, Casey Adams and Candi Carlock (Phillip); his grandchildren, Mason Adams, Landon Carlock, Cadence Carlock and Dixie Adams; his great grandchildren, Emberlyn Adams and Oaklyn Adams; and his sisters, Anita Hurley and Carol Norris Motley (Carlos). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, friends.
