He was predeceased by: his wife Peggy Gainer; his son Barry Gainer; and his grandson James Derrick Sturdivan. He is survived by: his daughter Sherry Hendricks; his grandchildren, Jeremy Gainer (Jill), Matthew Gainer (Stephanie), Nikki Sturdivan and Cody Sturdivan (Amber); his great grandchildren, Emily, Cooper and Zoey; and his sister Marilyn Sisson (Gainer).
