He is survived by: his children, Dixie Griffin Mathews (Doug), Stephen Harold Griffin (Glory), Jonathan Douglas Griffin (Alayne) and Naomi Griffin Self (Eric); his grandchildren, David Mathews (Ashley), LeeAnn Mathews, Elisabeth Mathews, Daniel Mathews, Michael Griffin, Jana Griffin, Bethany Sexton (Jamie), Alyssa Griffin, Lucy Self, Sophie Self and Griffin Self; and his brother Robert D. Griffin of Nettleton, MS. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
