Gilbert Edwin Jordan Obituary
Gilbert Edwin "Eddie" Jordan, 82 of Ringgold went to be with the Lord on February 21, 2023. He was a life long resident of the Keith Community, and a member at Keith Baptist Church. He retired from Combustion Engineering after 30 years, he then worked for Catoosa County Government as a docent of Old Stone Church Museum. He was an avid reader of military history, especially the Civil War Era. His love of the outdoors and history led to many years of metal detecting. His collection of Civil War artifacts are on permanent display at Old Stone Church for all to enjoy. He was a man of integrity and gentle heart. He loved his country and proudly served in the U.S. army. Two years were served in Bamburg Germany.
He is preceded in death by his parents Gilbert Brown & Fairy Silvey Jordan; infant son Gilbert David Jordan; sisters Mary Jo Yates, and Ann Jordan Brown.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 56 years Martha Jordan; daughters Tanya Jordan, Melissa (Beka) Jordan; brother Gerald (Brenda) Jordan; very special granddaughter Sarah Everett; several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A graveside service will be held at Keith Baptist Church Cemetery on Sunday February 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. with Chaplin Ricky Studdard officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. David Denman & his Assistant Mary Ann for their kindness and compassion as Eddies health declined. Also, thanks to his hospice team Holly, Samantha, Mary, Carol, Georgette and his special nurse Megan Demers along with all of the caregivers, nurses, and entire staff of the Dade Health and Rehab Center, who lovingly cared for Eddie during the final months of his life.
