He was predeceased by: his parents, John William Wunderlich and Ruth Walker Wunderlich Armstrong; and his son Bill Wunderlich. He is survived by: his wife Martha Wunderlich; his children, Mac (Melissa Maples), Denise (Kent Trapnell), Jeff (Michelle Maples) and John (Jen Wunderlich); his grandchildren, Heather, Derek, William, Dennis, Megan, Ansley, James, Callan, Remy, Evi, Liam and Anna Claire; and his sister Ava Barden. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
