He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodrow Wilson and Louise Headrick Wilson; his wife Dorothy "Dot" Wilson; his son Randall Steele (Marlene); and his brother Bob Wilson.

He is survived by: his daughter Teresa Hughey (Dale) of Ringgold; his brother Doug Wilson (Linda) of Old Fort, TN; and his nephews, Tony, Greg and Ray. He is also survived by five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
