He was predeceased by: his parents, Glen Herndon and Mary Young Herndon; and his brothers, Lloyd, Jack and Robert Herndon.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Coleman Herndon; his children, Diana Rogers, Steve Herndon (Vicki), Linda Davenport (Bruce), Jeff Herndon (Jennifer), Brian Herndon (Crystal) and Roger Herndon (Natalie); and his siblings, James Herndon and Joy Carlson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
