He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecil E. Carter and Ruth Tucker Carter; his grandson Clayton Carter; and his grandparents, Theodore, Macie Tucker, Allen and Eyre Carter.
He is survived by: his wife Andrea Jackson; his children, Ryan Carter, Chris Carter (Allison), Nikki Brantley (Nathan) and Jake Carter; his stepchildren, Renee Coltrane (Brian), Chuck Roundtree, Taylor Carter, Thomas Carter, Blaine Brantley, Bryant Brantley, Willie Brantley, Becca Lust, Abby Brantley, Caleb Carter, Kalli Drury, Kinsley Drury, Keegan Drury and Hunter Carter; his siblings, Betty Johnson (Shelton) and Steve Carter (Shannon); the mothers of children, Ginger F. Carter, Mary Drury and Charlene R. Carter; and his close friend Betty Nazworth. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
