He was predeceased by: his mother Helen McCutchen; and his grandparents, Christine, Jack McLaughlin, James and Rachel Royal.

He is survived by: his son Aaron Royal; his father James W. Royal, Sr.; his stepfather Roger McCutchen; his former wife Candice Royal; his siblings, Lori Gibbs (Tommy), Coby Royal, Jamie Royal (Darla) and Matthew Hanna (Brandalyn); and his nieces and nephews, Halle Hanna, Josie Royal and Trey Gibbs.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 3:00 PM.
