He was predeceased by: his stepfather Lawson Hobby. He is survived by: his wife Rachel Gorton Maddox; his daughters, Zoë Grace Maddox and Penelope "Poppy" Olive Maddox; his parents, Anne Hobby and John Maddox, Jr.; his sister Kimberly Maddox Hyman (Chip); his stepbrother Scott Hobby (Carson); his nieces and nephews, Emily Hyman, Mackie Hobby, Chandler Hyman and Henry Hobby; his parents-in-law, Andrew and Helen Gorton; and his brother-in-law James Gorton.
In lieu of flowers, should one desire, donations may be made in his name to Nuçi Space which will honor Johnny's passion for giving back and spreading kindness or one may donate towards a college fund set up for Zoë and Poppy.
