He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold George Zier and Constance Skokos Zier. He is survived by: his wife Deborah "Dee" Zier; his sister Cathy Diane Zier; his children, Cate Ellen Rush and Scott Sering Zier; and his grandchildren, Ben Rush, Liam Rush, Owen Rush, Elle Zier and Zoey Zier.

He held a profound pride in his contributions to the growth and prosperity of Georgia.
