He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer L. Smith and Wetona A. Smith; and his parents-in-law, William Hall and Juanita Hall. He is survived by: his children, Renee Smith Liberto (Ricky Liberto) of Mandeville and Elmer L. "Trey" Smith III of Mandeville, Louisiana; his grandchildren, Stephanie Fisher, Charlie Mascagni, Jamie Pearce, Sarah Soregaroli, Greg Smith, Matt Smith and Calin Smith; his stepgrandchildren, Zack Liberto and Abby Liberto; his great grandchildren, Katelyn Pearce, Leah Pearce, Jase Fisher, Parker Pearce, Samuel Soregaroli and Jack Pearce; his stepgrandchild Shelby Underwood; his stepgreat-grandson Elijah Underwood; his siblings, Sammy Smith and Peggy Harrigill; and his pet Chase Smith.
