He was predeceased by: his parents, Homer Nathan Chappell and Ethel Barnes Chappell. He is survived by: his wife Valerie Chappell of Rex; his son Brian Chappell of Rex; his sister Chris Mozley of South Carolina; his nieces, Laurie Sambenedetto and Sharon Standridge; his great-nephews, Giovanni Sambenedetto and Gavino Sambenedetto; and his great-niece Elizabeth Standridge.
