He was predeceased by: his parents, Agosto Gaiero and Jacqueline Voss Losada. He is survived by: his wife Haydee; his children, Lucy Thompkins (Michael), Jorge Rodriguez Mendez, Grace Watson (William) and Elizabeth Rodriguez Mendez; and his grandchildren, Maria, Victoria Thompkins, Billy, Garrett Lee and Lana Watson.
