He was predeceased by: his mother Georgia. He is survived by: his mother Lillie Mae Addie; his children, Ronnie Messer (Alice) and Tanya Messer; and his grandchildren, Mercedes, Jacob, Ethan and Nathan Messer.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rock Baptist Church (6188 GA-42, Rex, GA 30273).
