He was predeceased by: his parents, Betty Jean Manson-Josey and Leroy Josey of Rentz, GA.; his grandparents, Ellis Manson Sr. and Nellie Mae Jones; his uncles, Ulysses Jones and Henry Jones; and his sisters, Faye Manson and Sharon Manson-Marbury.
He is survived by: his daughter Chiquoia Josey of Dublin, GA; his siblings, Yolanda Guyton of Rentz, GA, Terry Stephens and Royce Josey (Kim); his grandchildren, Isaiah Philyaw, Jadah Philyaw and Elijah Philyaw; his aunts, Doris Jones-Reese of Gordon, GA, Sandy Manson of Killeen, TX and Carolyn Mills of Irwinton, GA.; and his godchildren, Shanyia Taylor and Jordan Taylor of Milledgeville, GA. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and devoted friends.
