He was predeceased by: his parents, Leroy Nichols and Connie Nichols; and his daughter Shannon Nichols Bolin. He is survived by: his wife Mary Hart Nichols of Reidsville; his children, Jessica Haller of Ohio, Jeb Cowart (Gloria) of Reidsville and DuAnn Davis (Lee) of Reidsville; and his sisters, Lynn Nicholas of Greenville, NC and Patricia Marie Nichols of Panama.

Memorials may be given to National Epilepsy Foundation or the Vidalia Women's Shelter.
