He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank M. Sr. Freeland and Ida Amanda Quarles Freeland; his son Frank M. Freeland, III; and his siblings, Charles D. Dill, Oliver Dill, Doris Blackburn, Georgia Goldman and Minnie Clark.
He is survived by: his daughter Michelle Shelton (Charles) of Washington; his sisters, Jean Brown of Lincolnton, Mae Lumpkin of California and Gloria Freeland of Kentucky; his grandchildren, Triston Shelton and Hunter Guay; and the mother of his child Catherine Freeland. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
