He was predeceased by: his mother Agnes Morrison Spitler. He is survived by: his father Albert Harrell Spitler; his children, Richard Spitler (Emma) and Karen Harris (Greg); his brother Bill Spitler (Sandy); his grandchildren, Channing Harris and Finn Harris; and his nephews, Brandon, Michael, Taylor and Jonathan. He is also survived by one grand nephew and three grand nieces.
