He was predeceased by: his parents, John Raymond "Buck" Darnell and Ruth Bingham Darnell of Rabun Gap; and his siblings, Jim Darnell, George Darnell, David Darnell, Freddie Darnell and Virginia Sue Darnell.
He is survived by: his siblings, Bill Darnell (Bernice), Frank Darnell (Wanda), Reid Darnell (Ginnie), Becky Cannon (Sonny), Mary Ramey, Patti Gowens and Diane Stowe (Danny). He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
