He was predeceased by: his parents, J. W. Sherley and Ida Pauline Oliver Sherley; and his sister Laura Hayes. He is survived by: his wife Carol W. Sherley of Quitman; his children, Tim Sherley (Wynetta) of Quitman, Josh Sherley (Hope) of Quitman and Laura Stewart (John) of Quitman; and his siblings, Tom Sherley, Jim Sherley, Rosa Lee Weaver, Elith Brooks, Kadelia Brinson and Norma Beaty. He is also survived by seven grandchildren.
