She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Samuel Gilley and Maudie Gilley; her children, Alvin Messer (Adrianne), Sammy Messer (Sheila), Phillip Messer, Mike Messer (Judy) and Jeanea Johnson (Marcus); her husband Alf Messer; and her brother Ronnie Gilley. She was also cherished by children, seventeen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and her youngest.
