She was predeceased by: her parents, Leamon Levan Mercer and Olga Lee Mercer; her husband Henry Carter; her children, Henry Carter, Jr. and Levan Carter; her grandson Christopher Stephens; and her siblings, J. B. Mercer, Opal Butts and Bertha Straham.
She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Croft (Robert) of New Marker, VA, Linda Epp (Paul) of Quitman and Virginia Fletcher (Bobby) of Lake Park. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren.
