He was predeceased by: his parents, Buddy Griggs and Sara Griggs; his wife Dorothy "Dot" Ann Griggs; his son Joshua Griggs; and his brother William Mark Griggs.
He is survived by: his daughter Kelley Wright of Douglasville; and his siblings, Marlene Barrow of Mableton, Suzanne Kiess of Austell, Tina Scott of Austell, Fran Griggs-Nellis of Austell and Bobby Griggs of Douglasville.
