He was predeceased by: his parents, John Dukes Fields and Maggie Collins Fields; his siblings, John H. Fields, William F. Fields and Vivian Fields Kelly; and his nephew Richard M. Fields (Rick).
He is survived by: his sons, Robert (Robbie), Richard (Rick) and Randall Fields (Randy); and his wife Christine Fields. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
