She was predeceased by: her parents, Bessie Jacobs Mears and Luther B. Mears; and her brother Luther B. (Mears, Jr.). She is survived by: her siblings, Ralph Mears (Janice) of Guyton, GA, Donna Latham (Scott) of Guyton, GA, Susan Chester (Ricky) of Port Wentworth, GA and Amy Meals (Kirk) of Port Wentworth, GA.; and her nieces and nephews, Heather Jackson Fish, Trey Jackson, Adam Chester, Stephen Mears, Chris Mears, Lance Chester and Erin Meals Sawyer.
Visitation was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Thomas C. Strickland Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel (901 US-80, Pooler, GA 31322). A funeral service was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth (402 Pinehurst Pl, Port Wentworth, GA 31407). A burial was held on Monday, April 28th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Hillcrest Abbey East (1600 Wheaton St, Savannah, GA 31404).
