It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Alton Hughes of Port Wentworth, Georgia, who passed away on August 5, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Mike Hughes and Madge Waters Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Mary Beasley Hughes; his sons, Joseph David Hughes, Edward Alton Hughes and Gordon Glenn Hughes (Anita); his grandchildren, Robert Hughes, Casey Hughes, Ryan Hughes, Jessica Horton, Jennifer Jarrel and Anna Hughes; and his great grandchildren, Josh Herrington, Geneive Herrington, Joey Stidhodhams, Molly Hughes and Caroline Moore.
The family wants to thank Paula Hagedorn, Melody Hardin, Aurora Stewart, and Lori McCreery for helping take care of him while he had the terrible disease of Parkinson's.
