He was predeceased by: his parents, Austin B. and Helen Louise Gunter, Sr.; and his children, Deborah Bowman, Bee Hornsby and Tommy Gunter.
He is survived by: his children, Richard A. Gunter, Laura Quesinberry (Mike), Kenneth Gunter (Brandy) and Tammy G. Phillips (James); and his grandchildren, Scott Hargroves (Holly), Thomas Myers, Austin B. Myers, Riley Gunter, Raiana Gunter, Shelly Young, Cody Gunter, Adam Hargroves and Casey Layne. He is also survived by grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
