He was predeceased by: his parents, William Hugh Elton, Sr. and Elizabeth Sheppard Gnann; his mother-in-law Lizzie Crabb Copeland; and his stepmother Mildred Elton. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl C. Elton; his sons, William Hugh Elton, III (Rhonda) and Sanford Elton (Erin); his grandchildren, Marc, Zach, Annie, Josie and Caleb; his sisters, Nancy Gunter and Joette Stripling; and his pets, Buddy and Ethel. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
