He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Lester and Edel Gill Phillips; and his wife Cynthia Shearouse Phillips of Virginia. He is survived by: his children, Lester R. Phillips, Sr., Richard Phillips (Amy) and Ginger Jeffers (Braxton); his grandchildren, Lauren Eades (Brice), Lester Phillips, Jr. (Danielle) and Aaron Phillips; his great grandchildren, Melissa Phillips and Aarolynn Phillps; and his brothers, Rufus Phillips and Humphrey Phillips (Sarah). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19, the family will have a private funeral and burial.
