She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Smith and Nora Huett Smith; her husband Jesse Carter; and her children, Barbara Jean Fort and James "Buddy" Futch.
She is survived by: her children, Dianne Speller, Curtis Futch, David Seckinger and Fred Seckinger; and her siblings, Jake, Esther, Mary and Gloria. She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
