She was predeceased by: her uncles, Arthur "Papa Duke" and Dan Sapp. She is survived by: her husband Tony Perks of Black Creek, GA; her siblings, Billy Stephens, Jennifer Sapp Spence (Kip) of Rincon, GA and Dian Duke Ribbens (Charlie) of Rincon, GA; her nieces and nephews, Christie Gurley Dossey (Beau), Kayla Spence Stille (Brandon), Shelby Spence Young (Gerald), Danielle Smith, Trae Gurley (Jessica Pope) and Kip Spence, Jr. (Stacey); her aunt Frances Duke; and her cousin Rita Wiggins.

“Mary was the best neighbor ever. She was so good to me. Mary sent food to me often. She was concerned for my well being. On Mother's Day, knowing my daughter died, she would be sure to get a card for me. We might talk for a minute or an hour. We kept up with each other just to be sure the other was okay. I love Mary, and I miss her terribly. I am praying for the family and all those who love her.”
