It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Grant of Pooler, Georgia, born in Savannah, Georgia, who passed away on May 24, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Truell and Carrie Truell; her husband Deacon Clarence; her siblings, Leo Barnwell, Willie Butler, Robert Truell, Jr., Rosena Dempsey and Bernita LaFrance; her stepson Shawntray; her granddaughter-in-law Gail Arkwright Grant; her brothers-in-law, Eugene Grant and George Dempsey; her aunt Evelyn Hood; her niece Thomasena Gusby (Jesse Lee); and her grandson-in-law Donald Green.
She is survived by: her stepsons, Clarence Singleton (Patricia) of Miami, FL and Deontray Grant (LaTasha) of Savannah, GA; her brother Moskie Truell (Donna) of Pooler, GA; her grandchildren, Myesha Brown, Kammarah Grant, Ramon Grant, Robert Grant, Jr., Racheal Grant, Lamica Grant, Rashena Grant, Trevon Grant, Ra'Shay Grant, ReGina Grant, Joshua Jones, Quentin Grant and Ashley Cooper (Nelson); her sisters-in-law, Lauretta Johnson, Wilma Grant, Ida Grant, Sharon Lowe and Mildred Barnwell; her nieces and nephews, Georgetta Royals (Joseph), Diane Grant (Ronald), Barbara Johnson, Ronald Dempsey (Patricia) and Gregory Grant; her cousins, Mary Ann Hardy, Beatrice Glover and Irene Hood; her goddaughter Jessica Mikell; and also, Terry Grant of Savannah, Angela Grant-Mack (Clifford) of Pooler, GA, Tara Grant and Robert Grant (Robin) of Savannah, GA. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
