She was predeceased by: her parents, Alvin Goforth and Dimple Petty Goforth; her husband Fred Burns; her granddaughter Crystal Morgan; and her brothers, Luther Goforth, Richard Goforth, Eugene Goforth, Billy Goforth, Charles Goforth, Clarence Goforth and Franklin Goforth.

She is survived by: her son Wendell Burns; her brother Jerry Goforth; and her grandchildren, Cliff Morgan, Terry Burns and Monica Vaughan. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary's honor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
