She was predeceased by: her parents, Carl Hughes Sr. and Ovelle Timmens Hughes; her son Scott Bomar; and her siblings, Frances Gilreath, Anne Brown, Carl Hughes Jr. and Steve Wells.

She is survived by: her husband Jerry Bomar; and her sons, Todd Bomar (Angela) and Preston Bomar. She is also survived by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews.
