She was predeceased by: her parents, Garland Durelle Anderson and Allie Adams Anderson; her husband James Marvin Griggs, Sr.; her daughter Gail Alston; her son-in-law Robert Alston; and her siblings, Elliott Anderson, Durelle Anderson (Dot), Eola Mae Jennings (Jack), Mattie Beth Spires (William) and Florine Bailey (Arthur).
She is survived by: her children, Marvin Griggs, Jr. (Lynn) of Preston and Maxine Beall (Leon) of Ellerslie; her grandchildren, Niki McGee, Adam Griggs (Sarita), Ashley Pierce (Jeff) and Shonna Shellhouse (Mark); her great grandchildren, Miranda Beall, Joel McGee, Scott McGee, Lowin Griggs, Tessa Pierce, Anna Pierce, Lily Shellhouse and Carter Shellhouse; and her sister-in-law Carol Anderson of Plains. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, it was Mrs. Griggs' suggestion that memorial contributions be made to Maranatha Baptist Church, P.O. Box 307, Plains, GA 31780.
