She was predeceased by: her parents, Ambers James Powers and Bertha Lorena Johns Powers; and her siblings, Elweita Schultz, Tina Stephens, Lorena Griffin, James Powers and Paul Powers.
She is survived by: her husband Alec Newsome of Cordele; her son Doug Newsome (Barbara) of Eatonton; and her siblings, Wayne Powers (Cathy) of Swainsboro and Jean Sheridan of Chesapeake Bay. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Pleasant View Baptist Church (74 Spruce Ln, Pitts, GA 31072). A funeral service was held on Sunday, March 9th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
