He was predeceased by: his wife Marie Agnes Moss; his daughter Cynthia Dianne Moss; his daughter-in-law Willene Weaver Sledge; his granddaughter Taneshia Yvette Griggs; his great grandchildren, Jacob Israel Jordan, Alexis Page-Holt and Jada Holt; his siblings, Major Moss, Willie Alfred Moss and Minnie Virgil Moss; and his siblings-in-law, Betty Woods, Willie Woods and Jackie Roberts.
He is survived by: his children, Tommie Lee Sledge of LaGrange, GA, Tyrone Sledge of Pine Mountain, GA, Ricky Brooks of Columbus, GA, JoAnne Taylor (Tony) of Woodbridge, VA, Sharon Griggs (Mitchell), Joyce Moss and Yvette Turner (Bobby) of Pine Mountain, GA; his siblings, James Moss (Becky) of LaGrange, GA, Eddie Moss (Brenda) of Atlanta, GA, Betty Allen of Boston, MA and Martha Lois McGhee (Hampie) of Pine Mountain, GA; and his brother-in-law Charlie Roberts (Beverly). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren.
