It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bessie Lewis Dukes of Perry, Georgia, born in Pulaski, Georgia, who passed away on May 28, 2024, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ollie Lewis and Edna Lewis; her children, Warnell Harpe Jackson and Jimmy Harpe; and her grandson Christopher Jones.
She is survived by: her husband Eugene "Gene" Dukes of Perry; her children, Johnny Dukes of Perry and Janice Dukes (Brian Downie) of Newnan; her daughter-in-law Denise Harpe of Forsyth; her grandchildren, Jason Harpe (Heather) of Thomasville, Rachel Reeves of Forsyth, Allison Jones of Hillsboro and Lauren Downie of Newnan; and her sisters, Leila Mills of Macon and Gertrude Holloway of Metter. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
