She is survived by: her children, Valerie Wilson of Milledgeville, James Dempsey of Jesup, Sherrod "Skeebo" Carter (Tiffany) of Pembroke and David Allen Carter, Jr. (Mallory) of Wilmington Island; her husband David Allen Carter, Sr. of Wilmington Island; and her sisters, Susan Crowe (Tim) of Eatonton and Sara Plaspohl (David) of Savannah. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
