Though Mavis Inez may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Mavis Inez touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Anderson Earl Jerkins and Audrey May Lynn Jerkins; and her brother Hurbert Lavone "Pete" Jerkins. She is survived by: her husband Donald James Bacon; and her sons, David Bacon (Lisa) of Ellabell and Bill Bacon (Patricia) of Pembroke. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and numerous nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Flanders Powell Funeral Home (197 S College St, Pembroke, GA 31321). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 9th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the same location.
